What professionals say

Landscape Gardener, Bucharest

I've tested dozens of manual aerators in 15 years. This is the first that doesn't clog in Romanian clay soil. The side-slot design makes all the difference.

Turf Manager, Germany

The quality is exceptional. The 21.7kg weight makes manual aeration much more efficient than lighter models.

Sports Ground Manager, Cluj

I aerate a 7,000 sqm football pitch weekly. The sealed 2RS bearings survived 2 full seasons without any service intervention.

FAQ

Clear Answers

Complete technical information for an informed purchase decision.

When is the best time to aerate my lawn?

Spring (March–May) or autumn (September–November) are optimal, when grass is in its active growth phase. For cool-season grasses (Festuca, Poa), aerate in autumn. For warm-season grasses (Zoysia, Bermuda), aerate in spring.

Why does the weight of a manual aerator matter?

Weight is the penetration force. A 21.7kg aerator pushes through compaction by gravity. Lighter models (8–12kg) require the user to actively press each tine down, which is exhausting and inefficient over large areas.

What do I do with the soil plugs?

Leave them on the lawn. They decompose in 1–2 weeks, returning beneficial microorganisms to the soil. You can also break them up with a rake immediately after aeration. Don't collect them — they're a natural soil amendment.

How does the "side-slot" design prevent clogging?

Classic "open-face" tines create a vacuum column that retains soil cores inside, especially in wet clay. The "side-slot" lets air enter laterally, breaking the vacuum and ejecting the core as soon as the tine exits the soil.

Can I replace individual tines if they wear out?

Yes. Each tine is mechanically fixed with a button-head bolt and washer. Replacing a single tine takes under 2 minutes with a standard M8 wrench. No special tools or authorized service needed.

Can the aerator be transported disassembled?

Yes. The 125.7cm handle is modular, split into 3 bolt-together sections. Disassembled, the entire unit fits in a 43 × 43 × 18 cm box — easily transported in any car boot.
